About Us

ABOUT

The University Art Galleries function as an educational resource to the University and Dayton metropolitan communities. We seek to fill an educational and cultural gap in our region by exhibiting exceptional contemporary art in a variety of media, and implementing tools such as catalogues, public lectures, brochures, and workshops to communicate the concepts and methods behind the exhibited work. We underscore our outreach objectives
by being free and open to the public 6 days a week and during all events.

Mission

The Wright State University Art Galleries strives to bring to our region the best contemporary art that is available both nationally and regionally, and to make it readily accessible to our audience. Being a university gallery, we are able to utilize diverse intellectual and physical resources to provide quality arts education and cultural experiences to not only the Wright State University community, but to citizens of the Dayton metropolitan area and southwest Ohio.

At the heart of all our programming is openness to new ideas, as well as being innovative, informative, and showcasing excellence. We believe that there are always connections to be drawn between the arts and the world around us, and that these relationships are often best identified and understood through contemporary art.

Staff

The Galleries’ staff consists of one full-time Gallery Coordinator, a part-time Graduate Assistant, and part-time student Gallery Monitors.
